Abstract
This research determines the relationship between the administrative process and inventory management in a metalworking company in Lima. The research was quantitative, applied, correlational, non-experimental, and cross-sectional, involving all 15 employees of the organization. Data were gathered through surveys and a likert type scale which was reviewed by expert evaluators who confirmed its reliability showing Cronbach alpha values of 0.875 and 0.831 for the two variables. The analysis revealed a very strong positive correlation between both variables (rho = 0.909; p < 0.01) confirming that applying administrative procedures with rigor is the key factor in reducing failures within the organization. Planning and control turn out to be essential for closing the gaps in storage and improving the accuracy of the logistic inventory which at the start of the study showed a 50% deficiency rate. It is concluded then that formalizing and organizing the actions of planning organizing directing and controling ensures operational continuity and noticeably improves the logistics response capacity to the demands of the industrial sector.
